3.  Can a student enroll mid-year?  If a student is new to the studio whether they have dance experience or not they are able to enroll mid-year.  However, they may not be able to take place in our annual dance recital in May.

4.  Do you have boys at your studio?  We have always had a high turn out of boys at our studio.  They often start in hip/hop or acrobats because of the coordination for sports and for the fun of dance.

5.  What are the benefits of dance?  Dance benefits your physical state as well as your mental state.  It helps young children with self esteem and social skills that are helpful in pre-school and kindergarten.  Dance also helps kids of all ages with confidence, critical thinking, coordination, rhythm, creativeness, and academically.  Not only are numerous muscles finely tuned, but they are stretched and strengthened.  The brain develops the ability to concentrate and absorb information at a faster rate when a child learns dance.  Children of all ages perform well in the structured environment of dance.

6.  Can I watch my child at dance class?  We have one parent observation week, which is the last week of October.  We only have one watch week because it is too distracting to the child if they have their parents watching all the time.

7.  What if my child doesnt like dance class, do I get a refund?  I suggest that you try your child a few times before having them drop the class.  Sometime it takes younger students a few times before they are mentally ready to detach from Mom.   Shyer students may require repeated attempts before they feel secure to participate in class by themselves.  If after a couple of times your child still cries, then I will refund your money and ask them to start again in a few months.

8.  If we cant make class do I get a credit for the classes missed?  We do not give any credits or makeup classes for any reasons!

9.  How big are the classes?  Classes vary in size depending on the age of the children.

10.  Do we have to participate in the annual dance recital?  The annual recital is totally optional but most parents want their child to experience the opportunity to dance on stage in front of a large audience.

11.  How many teachers are on staff at the Laurel School of Dance?  In order to insure that each student receives a quality dance education, Laurel is the only instructor that teaches and choreographs at the studio.  Student demonstrators help with the classes, and on a rare occasion, Laurel might have an assistant instructor teach for her .
